I've just spent nearly an hour trying to create a LinkedIn banner that 'shows off' what I actually do. But... why don't I just tell you?👩🏫 I'm an English (ESL) teacher.📝 I'm an SEO-focused content writer.💬 I'm a language student/nerd and proud.👩🏫I teach English online via Zoom through English with Claire.📝I write for small(ish) businesses around the world.💬I study Chinese, German, Spanish and Swedish as much as I can. They're the basics. A few more details?I teach English to students of almost all levels (A2-C1) who are over 18. I sometimes teach as young as 13, but this very much depends on their level, goals, and dedication. I use General English and exam textbooks, TED talks, and songs - and I also create my own materials.I write SEO-focused content such as blog posts, landing pages, and web content. I also write newsletters and other pieces of content. I write about a whole range of topics, but I love anything to do with education, languages, mental health, coffee, travelling, gardening, and football! I study as much as I can when I'm not working. Chinese is my priority and always has been, but I try to make time for other languages as well. I run @languageslouise on Instagram and WordPresss, where I share my language-learning journey, study tips, resources, and much more. If any of this sounds interesting to you, click the follow button, or feel free to connect with me. I'm happy to chat with like-minded people, but of course, I'd also love it if you wanted to work with me on some writing. That's about it! Stay tuned for more updates on... well... all of the above! 😊

Why is LinkedIn asking me to start writing a post with AI? What kind of writer would I be if I did that? 🤣

I've been on #studygram for 3 years this month! Although I LOVE LinkedIn, I'm heavily invested in my Instagram community. If you're learning a language, I highly recommend having an Instagram account to share your journey with and learn from others.Anyway, here's a short blog post about my journey. https://lnkd.in/e2J3hg4E

I took 3 days off this week because I could. I watched the Superbowl, read 4 books, cooked a lot and went on plenty of walks. It was exactly what my soul needed 🥰Back to teaching and writing today though. One new student, a new contract PLUS and a couple of client blogs to finish up by Saturday lunch time. How's everyone else's week going?

The Lunar New Year always holds a special place in my heart. Having grown up in Taiwan, my family and I looked forward to this festival as much as December 31st. This year will be a little quiet on the celebrations front, but my family sent a care package and my husband and I managed to see a lion dance at Meadowhall. If you're celebrating, I wish you a happy and prosperous lunar new year.要祝大家新年快乐,龙年大吉。希望大家都身体健康,生意兴隆和出入平安🧧🐲❤️🥰⭐️

I decided to log off at 2pm today and spend some time learning German with my Coffee Break Languages activity book. I don't have much energy for German at the moment and I hate that. But I'm trying to sneak in 20-30 minutes when I can. Thankfully this book is perfect for it as it has lots of 5-15 minute activities.Any other German learners in my network? ☺️ #languagelearner #lerneDeutsch #learningGerman

FREELANCERS! 👋 What's your favourite thing about being freelance? For me, it's starting my day in a positive way. No 5:30am alarms for a 6:30am commuter trainNo rushing to make coffee and breakfastNo anxiety sweats or panic attacks over leaving the houseInstead, I get to💜 wake up without an alarm💜 read, go for a walk, or just stare out the window for a bit 💜 spend time talking to other freelancers on Discord - setting intentions, helping each other, and having a good ol' natter. (Thank you Dee and Eve)💜 rest if my body needs me toFLEXIBILITY IS SO IMPORTANT and since I couldn't find a company that offered me the flexibility I needed, I decided to return to freelancing FULL-TIME! 🎉 I'll be talking about this a lot in the coming weeks and I'm so excited to share what I'm doing.#freelancedesigner #contentwriter #freelancelife

Anyone else work Saturdays? Saturday mornings are pretty busy for me because I teach English alongside my content writing. I usually get up at 8:30 to write for an hour. I teach from 10-1 (ish) and then spend the afternoon watching sports. Usually football and NFL. Because I have worked from a desktop for the last 4 years, I got into the habit of closing the office door at 1/1:30pm on a Saturday and not doing anything work related until late Monday morning. However, my husband has just given me his old laptop 💻 and I've been sitting at our living room table updating my work plans and content schedules. I hope this isn't the start of some bad working habits 😂 Are you working, watching the rugby or doing something else today?
