What Type of Ham Do I need?

Use thin-sliced ham to ensure that it will fit perfectly into the pocket you have created when cutting into your chicken. You can use any type of thin-sliced ham, such as honey ham or smoked ham. I really like honey ham.

What Cheese Works Best for Stuffed Chicken?

Provolone cheese is one type of cheese you can use when stuffing your chicken. Other great options include American, Cheddar, and Sharp Cheddar Cheese.

How Do I Store Leftovers?

Store your leftovers in a food storage container with an airtight lid to keep the air out of the container. Place your leftovers in the refrigerator, where they should remain fresh for up to four days.

Recipe Tips and Notes

  • Provolone is the best cheese. While you can use any cheese that you like, provolone is a great option. It tastes great with the ham and chicken.
  • Don’t cut all the way through the chicken. While cutting a pocket into your chicken, be sure to avoid cutting all the way through to the other end of it.
  • Use the sauce on your sides. Save some sauce to serve with a side of mashed potatoes. You can pour a bit of the sauce on top to give the potatoes even more flavor.

If you thought it was difficult to prepare stuffed chicken, think again! The Ham Stuffed Chicken recipe is simple enough for anyone to follow. Recreate this delicious chicken that you can serve with your favorite sides.
